Yuksam Norbugang Manilakhang (1933 A.D)
This Manilakhang is located at Norbugang, Yuksam near the coronation Throne, west Sikkim. The old Manilhakhang was built by the area public in 1933 A.D. and was fully renovated in 1990. The Altar mainly contains the statues of Lord Buddha, Dolma, Gelong Namkhai Nyingpo and King Phuntshog Namgyal with small statues of three Pioneer Lamas of Sikkim who consecrated Chogyal Phuntshok Namgyal at this place.
In 1933 a huge crack occurred on one side of the Tashi Wobar Choedten which was built here by Three Pioneer Lamas of Sikkim. Soon after that incident a massive war broke out in the whole world. This crack could not be filled in or patched by the lamas. So they had to invite Kyabgon Pariba to renovate the Choedten. It is said that when a ceremony was held with the lama the crack mysteriously disappeared. At that time it was found essential to construct a shrine hall to house the statues of the four Naljors or Yogi Brothers to keep constant vigilance over the Choedten and to perform pujas regularly by the Community to pray for ever lasting peace in the world. Thus Yuksam Manilhakhang came into existence. This Manilhakhang follows Nyingmapa Sect and affiliated to Pemayangtse Gonpa. .
