Navey Manilakhang (1926 A.D)
Navey Manilhakhang is situated at 10 kms away from Gangtok (East Sikkim). Its foundation was laid in 1926 and was completed in 1927 by the people of Navey. The above said area was donated by the villagers themselves by adjusting their value of land through mutual understanding. In 2003 Late Thinlay Lepcha S/O Late Chozang Lepcha (Pachey ward) donated land measuring about 1 acre.
Since there was no Manilhakhang or monastery in the vicinity, the villagers constructed a monastery like structure using kutcha material like timber, boulders, and GIC sheets for their periodical prayers. The Manilhakhang was reconstructed in 2000 with financial aid from the Government and donation from each household of the village. At present there are 25 lamas and 30 Nyamos. The altar contains idols of Lord Buddha, Guru Padmasambhava and Avalokiteshwara. The present Ponlob is Shri Kezong Lama and this Manilakhang belongs to the Karma Kagyupa Sect
